Maoist, NC agree to pave way for UML’s participation

KATHMANDU – The Unified CPN (Maoist) and the Nepali Congress (NC) have agreed to bring the CPN (UML) on board the national unity government.

During a meeting held at UCPN-Maoist Chairman Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat this morning, the leaders of two parties have admitted that some procedural weaknesses were occurred during the cabinet expansion. They also called for the UML and other parties to join the government. The two parties have agreed to hold intensive talks and discussions among the political parties.

The UCPN-Maoist and NC have also agreed to resolve the disputed issues appeared in the constitution writing process at the earliest, said Dahal’s Press coordinator Santosh Paudel.

Similarly, it is learnt that the UCPN-Maoist and the NC held talks to resolve the protests being across the country regarding federalism. They have agreed to move forward by making common stance on the highly debated issues in the Constituent Assembly, form of governance and the state restructuring.

UCPN-Maoist Chairman Dahal, Vice-chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and NC General Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula were present at the meeting. RSS
