जेष्ठ २ गते, २०६९ मा प्रकाशितKATHMANDU: Three lead parties- Maoist, Congress and UML- and the Joint Democratic Madheshi Front has settled all disputed issues related to state restructuring and forms of governance.
A meeting of these parties held at the Prime Ministers residence in the capital on Tuesday, agreed to provision 11 provinces. Authority to name these provinces will be given to Provincial Assembly.
To resolve all disputes related to the boundaries of these states, the meeting has agreed to forma a commission informed Maoist Vice Chairman Naryan Kaji Shrestha.
Despites expressing its reservations on the understanding, JDMF has claimed that it will not hinder the implementation of the understanding informed MJF-L Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachhadar.
Similarly parties have also agreed on mixed forms of governance with executive power divided between the directly elected President and legislative elected Prime Minister. The Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee will detail out the distribution of power between them later today. However leaders have agreed that the President will not have the power to dissolve the parliament and that both will under the parliament.
After the sub-committee finalizes the understanding in its meeting today, the document will be presented in the Constitutional Committee meeting slated for Wednesday which after being finalized will be presented in the Constituent Assembly meeting.
Along with that the UML has also agreed to participate in the government. Shrestha informed that UML has presented its General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel and Radha Gyanwali’s name for the ministerial portfolios during the meeting today.
Pokhrel will be sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister and Gyanwali as minister on Tuesday.
