10 killed in cargo plane crash in Ghana’s capital

At least 10 people have died in Ghana after a cargo plane crashed into a bus while attempting to land.

Officials said the Nigerian Allied Air jet slammed into a minivan at Accra airport on Saturday.

Ten passengers on board the bus were reported to have been killed in the crash. All four crew members of the plane were said to have survived.

Some reports said the plane had been taking off from the international airport, but others say it overshot the runway on landing.

Local TV showed pictures of the wreckage of the Allied Air plane.

The area is close to El-Wak sports stadium and Hajj Village, where Muslims stay before making the pilgrimage to Mecca.

Police and troops have cordoned off the scene.
