Bajhang: Land disputes between brothers claim 7 family members


BAJHANG: In an utterly gruesome form of land dispute, two brothers slaughtered each others children and families in Bajhang on Friday. Six children and a women were slaughtered when land disputes between two brothers- Gagan and Birajeet B K- slaughtered each others family members with domestic weapons in Syandi VDC-3.

Disputes between them had started at around 6 in the evening over land and the discussion between turned ugly when each of the family members fought each other sharp domestic weapons. The dispute ended after Gagan lost his two children and Birajeet lost his four children and wife in the slaughter.

Bajhang Police DSP Surya KC informed that the blood bath culminated in the death Gagan’s 2 year old daughter Pavitra, and 3 years old son Pawan and Birajeet’s 35 year old wife Jhakri Devi, 2 years old daughter Laxmi and sons Keshav (4 years), Rajendra (8 years), and Karan (3 years) death.

Police claimed that the deaths resulted after both families fought each other sharp domestic weapons. Members from both families had joined the verbal dispute between both brothers with sharp weapons and attacked each others kids and families informed KC, quoting local sources.

A police team had reached the incident site from Syandi police post and have arrested both brothers informed KC adding that another team from the district police headquarters, in the coordination of Inspector Sagar Bohara, has already been dispatched for inquiring into the event.

Syandi is some 65 kilometres west of the district headquarters and it borders with Baitadi district. The police team is expected to reach the village by tomorrow morning and the details on the incident would be known after that, the District Police Office, Bajhang, stated. As the village lacks telecommunications and as the police communication will be also not available there, KC said full detail of the incident will be available only after police team returns back to district headquarters. Bodies of the victim will be brought to district hospital by sunday evening for postmortem added KC.
