President urges parties to move ahead in consensus

KATHMANDU – President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today inaugurated the National Fine Arts Exhibition-2069 organized by the Nepal Fine Arts Academy in the capital. 

On the occasion, President Dr Yadav said that arts and cultures were the backbone of the country. President Yadav said that country’s international identity could be developed if arts and cultures were promoted and preserved.

The President said that country’s image could be highlighted if all were united and move ahead based on national unity and consensus. Dr Yadav also urged all to move ahead on the same track for country’s prosperity.

The President was of the opinion that prosperity was possible only if national interest was kept in the center.

Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Posta Bahadur Bogati said that the ministry would provide budget necessary for the Academy.
Bogati said that the ministry would take maximum efforts for the promotion and development of arts and culture of the country.

During the programme, President Dr Yadav honored senior artists Master Jib Ratna Shakya and Karna Narsingh Rana with National Arts Award-2069 B.S. The award carries a purse of Rs 20,000 and a copper plaque.

Similarly, Amrita Dangol was honored with National Fine Arts Prize and Devendra Singkhwal and Maheshwor Dangol among others were awarded with special prize.

Similarly, President Dr Yadav and Minister Bogati inspected the fine arts exhibition that kicked from today. The exhibition includes traditional painting, handicrafts, folk arts, sculpture and others.
