KATHMANDU – Ambassadors of different European nations to Nepal have stressed on political consensus among the political parties to end the ongoing political uncertainty in Nepal.
The ambassadors of the different countries of the European Union made such statement during a meeting with Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal this morning.
During the meeting held at Dahal’s residence at Lazimpat in the capital, the ambassadors expressed concern on the political uncertainties created after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA).
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Danish Ambassador to Nepal Alexander Spachis said that they urged the Maoist chairman to forge consensus and maintain unity among the major political parties to institutionalize achievements of the peace process.
He said the envoys expressed concern on the constitutional void and remaining issues to be settled in the constitution writing process.
During the meeting, the ambassadors reiterated their commitment to lend support for Nepal’s peace, prosperity, and stability.
They also urged Dahal to help end the political imbroglio very soon.
Dahal’s aide Shiva Khakurel said that during the meeting, Dahal told the envoys that efforts were underway to forge consensus among the parties though the distance among the parties has widened following the announcement of the elections to the Constituent Assembly (CA).
During the meeting, Dahal informed that the fiscal budget will be brought through consensus. RSS
