KATHMANDU – Amid efforts to keep the party intact from the establishment side, the ongoing meeting of the dissident faction has come up with two alternative names for the new party to be formed.
During the closed-door session, senior vice chairman has proposed to name the new party either as Communist Party of Nepal-Revolutionary Maoist or Maoist Revolutionary.
In today’s session, Baidya has presented a political proposal accusing party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of languishing in revisionist path and not being transformed despite heavy efforts for that, according to a participant.
In his political document, Baidya has proposed for moving ahead by separating from the party.
Group discussion over the political document is underway now.
Meanwhile, the UCPN (Maoist) has urged the dissident faction led by Vice-chairman Baidya to conclude the gathering by approving the proposal for party unity.
A meeting of the party standing committee members held at Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat this morning urged the disgruntled faction to pass the proposal for unity, as there was no alternative to party unity, party spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said.
Sharma said, “Revolution cannot be accomplished after split in the party. Revolution will be possible through unity. International experiences have also shown this. So, we urged them to be ready for party unity.”
Similarly, the meeting has also urged the opposition parties for national consensus.Likewise, the meeting also decided to work to make the national cadres’ gathering scheduled for June 29- July 1 a success. RSS
