People’s revolt, war, anything against parliamentary system: Baidya

KATHMANDU – The newly formed CPN Maoist party led by former Vice Chairman of UCPN Maoist, Mohan Baidya “Kiran” has said that its primary revolt is against parliamentary system.

Baidya said this while formally announcing his new party, which he claimed would establish third ideological axis.

Speaking at the press conference organized at the National Academy, Baidya said, ” We will launch people’s revolt for Peoples ruling system and the revolt might include people’s war, people’s revolt and anything that is necessary.”  Baidya added that his group may not register their party.

Baidya said that the faction was compelled to form a new party as the party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Vice-chairman and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai deviated from the party line and destroyed the achievement of ‘people’s war’.

He claimed that they were forced to split as their former party was filled with opportunists and lead by nee-revisionists that sacrificed the people’s aspirations for personal benefits.

Accusing the party leadership of ‘sacrificing’ the aspirations of the Maoist People Liberation Army (PLA), Baidya said that the move of disarming the PLAs reflected the limit of opportunism within the leadership.

Baidya claimed that his party will move towards the wellbeing of people preserving the gains such as Republic, Federalism and Secularism and said it was ready to cooperate with other similar minded forces. However he denied to bargain any of their ideals to form an alliance.

Baidya also urged the revolutionary forces from the party establishment to join the newly formed party. He also claimed that the newly formed party will be no less than the mother party and will move ahead in a parallel manner.

However the party has not ruled out the possibility for talks with the party establishment if they transform as per their aspirations. RSS
