Krishna Sapkota, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil): Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Tuesday, in connection with attending the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) also known as Rio+20, scheduled for June 20-22.
Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai, who is leading a 21-member delegation to the Conference, was received at the Rio de Janeiro International Airport upon his arrival at 3:00 pm local time.
Nepalese Ambassador to Brazil, Pradhumna Bikram Shah, protocol Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brazil, Jonaspaloschi and United Nations officials, among others, welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport.
Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai is scheduled to address the plenary meeting of the Conference place at Riocentro Convention Centre, Plenary Hall today.
The Prime Minister is also set to hold meeting with UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon and Norwegian Prime Minister on the sideline of the Conference today. RSS
