PM’s statement is party’s official line: Dinnath Sharma

KATHMANDU – Minister for Education and Spokesperson of the UCPN Maoist, Dinnath Sharma has said that the PM’s statement upon return from Brazil regarding his resignation, is the official bottom line of the party also.

” No one is unsatisfied with PM Bhattarai’s statement. The statement that Chairman Prachanda is not happy with the PM’s statement, are just rumors,” Sharma said while speaking at the Reporters Club Nepal on Wednesday.

Sharma said that the PM will resign only if Congress and UML agree on a new constitution incorporating ethnic-identity based federalism and come up with a PM candidate agreed to all parties.

” The PM’s resignation wont come by pushing the nation into constitutional crisis. Ranting on the streets without preparing an alternative is not sufficient to seek PM’s resignation,” Sharma said.

Responding to the recent intense dialogue between political parties and the President, Sharma said that the President did not have any constitutional rights to remove the PM. ” We have not expected that the President will go for coup. But if he does than it will push the nation into crisis,” Sharma said.

However NC leader Minendra Rijal claimed that solution to the ongoign political impasse cannot be found unless the PM ” who has pushed politics on the path of confrontation’ is removed.

“Baburam’s  ideology calls us for following him to find consensus. Congress will never follow Baburam’s ideology.”

Accusing that the PM and Prachanda has intentionally dissolved the CA to remain in political power, Rijal said that the CA elections were just a crooked way of the PM to remain in power.

Responding to recent discussion on forwarding Sushil Koirala as the candidate for the the consensus government, Rijal said that party is yet to take a formal decision on the issue.
