PM urges FNCCI delegates to work for consensus

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has stressed on the  need of taking initiatives by the business community also for bringing budget on the basis of political consensus and for ending the current political transition.
 
Speaking with the delegates of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, the PM said that he had no greed for state power as accused by opposition political parties, said Prime Minister’s Political Advisor Devendra Poudel quoting Dr. Bhattarai after the meeting.


Paudel reported that Prime Minister was confident that the political parties would forge consensus soon.


He claimed that Prime Minister had announced the date for fresh elections to the Constituent Assembly in line with the Supreme Court directive.


Emerging from the meeting, FNCCI President Suraj Baiddya said the Prime Minister claimed that the budget would be brought on the basis of political consensus and urged the delegation to cooperate with the government to that end.


“We have taken the pm’s call positively”, he said.  


“The Prime Minister is for bringing the complete budget through political consensus” said Baiddya.


Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai stressed the need of achieving the double digit economic growth in collaboration with the government and the private sector.


Prime Minister further said the parties in the opposition, too had no many differences regarding the budget-making process.


Stating that the budget would be brought through ordinance, Dr. Bhattarai pledged to take an initiative to resume the closed industries. 


The government was serious towards improving the condition of sick industries, said the PM.


Likewise, FNCCI Former President Chandiraj Dhakal said the development of nation was not possible without the development of industrial sector, pointing out the need of political stability in the country.


During the meeting, industrialist and entrepreneurs urged the Prime Minister to forge consensus and bring the complete budget, demanding guarantee of working environment.RSS
