KATHMANDU – The road expansion campaign along the Lazimpat-Maharajgunj road section in the capital has begun this morning after consensus with the stakeholders.According to Ganesh Rai, Chief of Metropolis Traffic Division, most of the buildings and physical infrastructures built by encroaching the roads have been bulldozed while some house owners themselves have agreed to demolish their houses.
Rai said that the road expansion drive that started at 6:00 AM this morning would continue the whole day and would reach Golphutar by this evening. A total of eight bulldozers have been used in the road expansion work.
The government has expedited the road expansion campaign in the capital after heavy traffic congestion due to narrow roads. RSS
