MJF-R fires acting Chairman Yadav, installs Nanda in his stead

KATHMANDU – The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Republic), the coalition partner in the UCPN (Maoist)-led government, has expelled Information and Communication Minister Raj Kishor Yadav from the post of party Co- chairman and Acting Chairman.
 
    He was relieved from the party key post following consent from the majority of the party Central Working Committee members.

    The CC meeting of the party that took place on June 24 decided to remove Mr Yadav from the post. He is replaced by former Agriculture and Cooperative Minister Nandan Kumar Dutta. The meeting was attended by 12 central members out of 22, it is learnt. 
 
    Atmaram Saha, Surita Kumari Saha, Sandhya Dev, Mahammad Khalid Siddiqui, Sitaram Agrawal, Ganesh Yadav, Abdul Jabara, Umeshlal Das, Salama Khatun Mikrani, Nanda Kishor Saha and Rajiv Jha including Dutta had attended the meeting.


    Similarly, the meeting decided to take back its support to the government.The party has got the portfolio of the Ministry of Information and Communications in the coalition government.


    Talking to RSS, newly appointed Co Chairman of the party Dutta accused Yadav of performing against the party policy.  Yadav has been accused of not summoning the CC meeting since he assumed the post of party Acting Chairman.


    The party has said that it has informed the Election Commission about its decision of expelling Yadav from the post of party Acting Chairman.


    It may be noted that the then Co-Chairman of MJF (R) was promoted to the Acting Chairman after the Supreme Court slapped 18-year imprisonment on the then Party Chairman Jay Prakash Prasad Gupta, convicting him of corruption. RSS
