TU’s intellectuals stress on federalism, claim it necessary for development

KATHMANDU – Intellectuals here have said that constitution without federalism would not be acceptable. At an interaction programme organized here today by the Thakur Ram Multiple Campus Departments of Sociology and Anthropology and Rural Development, Birgunj assisted by the TU Grants Commission  on ‘Federalism and constitution making process’, they said federalism was indispensable for making a new Nepal that is prosperous, inclusive and democratic.


    TU Sociology and Anthropology department Chief Dr. Binod Pokhrel said a federal state should be established with capacity and identity for equal participation and respect for each and every community.


      At the programme presided over by Officiating Campus Chief of the campus, Janak Mahato, Assistant Campus Chief duo Pramod Gupta and Kurban Hawari, and Ram Autar Yadav also expressed their views.


      Department Chief Pokhrel presented a working paper on the need of federalism, Dambar Chemjong on federalism and identity, Suresh Dhakal on federalism and existing political situation and journalist Chandrakishor Jha on federalism and Madhes.  RSS
