PALPA – Sixteen people were killed when an Indian jeep met with an accident at Jorte in Palpa, this morning. Fourteen died on the spot Saturday morning when the accident occurred at Jorte along Palpa-Tamghas road portion. Other two died while undergoing treatment at the Lumbini Medical college.
Of the deceased, 9 are women, 3 children and four males. The jeep had skidded some 70 metros down the road and the accident is assumed to have occurred around midnight.
Though initially speculated to be Indians, investigations have claimed that they were Nepalese residing in India.
All of the deceased are understood to be members of the same family on their way to Rindhi to perform last funeral rites of one their family member.
The driver was an Indian claimed investigating police personals. RSS
