Religious tourist up in Gosaikunda

RASUWA – Inflow of devotees attending the Gosainkunda fair that takes place on the occasion of Janaipoornima festival has increased in the recent days.


    As many as 3,500 pilgrims have so far observed the fair that kicked off on July 29 and the number of visitors is expected to reach 25,000 by August 2, the day of Jainaipoornima, said Gosainkunda fair management committee.


    Representatives of various NGOs, security personnel, scout members and volunteers from different social organizations have reached the pilgrimage site to provide all types of assistance required for devotees, said Chairperson of Gosainkunda Area Development Committee Sanjeeb DM.


    Gosainkunda shrine is situated in Syafru VDC6 at the altitude of 14,100-feet from the sea level.


    The public belief is that the Hindu Lord Shiva was featured in the pond created to pacify human jealousy and instability resulted from sea storming in the virtuous era. RSS
