Landslide in Taal village of Manang district displaces 60 families

KATHMANDU – Huge landslide in Tall village of Manang’s Dharapaani VDC has displaced 60 households and forced them to take shelter in the barrack of Nepal Army.


One resident of the village is seriously injured in the landslide that crushed the whole village. Residents of the village and police personals of the police post have taken shelter in Nepal Army’ Besi-Sahar road construction unit.


Captain Lok Bahadur Ghimire while confirming the report informed that some villagers have take shelter in their relatives house in the nearby villages.


Jeen Gurung (22) has been critically injured in the landslide that came down on the village after the huge mould of the mountain at the top of the village skidded down.


The mud has filled the whole village and destroyed physical infrastructures including health post in the village.


While the houses have remained intact, the raging Marsyangdi River have further threatened the village. The village is situated on the bank of this river. RSS
