Prof. Dr. Govind KC’s health deteriorating fast: Doctors

 KATHMANDU – Health condition of Prof. Dr. Govind KC, who has been on hunger strike for the past three days protesting against the political appointment at Institute of Medicene (IoM), has started to deteriorate.


Dr Prem Khadka who has been involved in his treatment informed that Dr KC’s health condition has started deteriorating and informed that the amount of acetone has increased in his urine.



KC had gone on strike demanding that the appointments be made on the basis of seniority and a system to that effect be established on sustainable basis.


All services at the TU Teaching Hospital has been shutdown in support of Dr KC’s demand. Despite friction from TUTH staff and Dr. KC the university has already appointed Dr Dharma Kanta Baskota as Acting Dean of IoM.


Dr. Baskota claimed that he too was a senior as per his definition of seniority and claimed that protest carried out by Dr KC was meaningless as he too is eligible for the post.


Meanwhile national employees Association’s TUTH, and TU Progressive Employee Association has also initiated relay hunger strike to protest unto death hunger strike
