Pushpa Kamal Dahal tells opposition to come for talks by forming alliance

KATHMANDU – The heat in Nepalese politics soared high on Friday after UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal challenged main opposition parties Nepali Congress and CPN-UML to form political alliance.

Speaking at his party’s program in Eastern Nepal, Dahal said that both Congress and UML should form a progressive alliance that could hold talks with the alliance of the ruling parties- Federal Democratic Republic Alliance.

Dahal said, “It would be easy for the two alliances to sit for talks to forge consensus on contentious issues.”

On Wednesday, twenty political parties announced the formation of a Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) under Dahal’s leadership.
