Three party supremos to decide between CA reinstatement or fresh CA elections

KATHMANDU – A meeting of the three lead political parties – UCPN Maoist, Nepali Congress and CPN UML- has entrusted the responsibility to choose between holding fresh CA elections or to resurrect erstwhile CA, to their supremos.

The meeting held at the Special Committee Secretariat at New Baneshwor in the capital on Wednesday morning, made such a decision after the participants failed to reach an agreement on any of the options.


CPN UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, who also participated in the meeting, informed about the decision while stating that the meeting remained positive in finding common grounds for resolving the current political impasse through consensus.


Among others the meeting was attended by senior leaders of the three parties including NC President Sushil Koirala, UCPN Maoist Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal, and CPN UML Chairman Jhalnath Khanal.
