KATHMANDU – Leaders of opposition parties have strongly demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai to pave the way for national consensus.
Speaking at a programme organized by the Media Vision International in the capital on Thursday, Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala said Prime Minister Bhattarai was an obstruction to political consensus. Therefore, he has no option but to quit the post as early as possible, she stressed.
The neigbouring countries- China and India- always want development and prosperity in Nepal, she said, adding that no foreign person should be allowed meeting refugees.
CPN-UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari accused the Prime Minister of attempting to capture state authority through ordinances.
Similarly, he said the PM was appeasing foreign powers to continue government. Political consensus was impossible unless PM Bhattarai leaves Baluwatar, he stressed.
Vice-Chairman of the CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel said the parties could not be able to forge consensus as long as Baburam Bhattarai remains as the Prime Minister. He lambasted the Prime Minister for signing biased agreements with India.
Moreover, he demanded the government to immediately abrogate the BIPPA, Mahahaki, Pancheshwor, Upper Karnali and the agreement on airport management. RSS
