Bhaskar slams donation drive across the country, calls for secure environment

Senior vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar, has said that the business community was pushing for double-digit economic growth in the country.

Speaking in a face-to-face programme here on Sunday, he stressed the need for increasing domestic employment to that end.

The FNCCI vice-president also suggested bringing in foreign investment while at the same time encouraging domestic investment for job creation.

“We have recently submitted 50 new plans to the government aimed at achieving double-digit economic growth. It’s up to the government whether or not to implement them,” he said.
Stating that some small groups are still harassing the business community by forcing them to give money as donation in some areas of the east Tarai and west Tarai including in Dang, Rajkarnikar called on the security bodies to be serious in controlling such groups.

He also called on the political parties to take prompt steps to reining in such groups which are often affiliated to one party or the other.
