पौष १३ गते, २०६९ मा प्रकाशितGOLBAZZAR, Siraha Dec 28 – Sever cold wave sweeping through the Tarai region has claimed six lives in a single village in Siraha district. The victim includes a child.
Seventy-year-old Sano Devi Mahara of Itariprasahi VDC-4, Fekani Mandal, 67 and Laxmi Devi Mandal, 72, of ward-6 of the same VDC, Mithila Mandal, 60, and Kaili Devi Mandal, 70, of ward no 9 of the same VDC, died because of extreme cold, RSS reported quoting the locals.
Likewise, eight-year-old Mamta Kumari Mahara of Itariprasahi-4 also died from cold.
The minor and elderly women from Dali families died due to lack of warm clothes, one local Sumitra Mandal told RSS.
Locals say that children and elderly people from Dali families have been affected more as they cannot afford to buy warn clothes due to poverty.
