SAPTARI, AUG 03 – Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-Nepal), Kamal Thapa , has said that the silence maintained by the pesident at a time when the country is at a difficult juncture is unfathomable.
Speaking in a news conference organised by the RPP-Nepal here on Saturday morning, he said he had not had the opportunity to understand why the president was keeping mum, but that his silence was mysterious.
Thapa said that the leaders of the three major parties and the Madhesi Front had no intention of including the agitating political parties in the election and in such a situation the president should call the dissenting parties to talks.
He also ruled out the possibility of an immediate alliance with the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya.
“Our party and Baidya’s party have different values and there could be no collaboration with that party when the issue has not even been discussed.” He, however, added that since there was no alternative to launching a struggle in the event of the election not held, the two parties should collaborate.
The RPP-Nepal chief accused the four-party mechanism as the main obstacle to the election and demanded that the mechanism be scrapped and a roundtable conference held for reaching political consensus.
He announced that his party was going to launch a nationwide National Unity March beginning September 11 to garner public support for reinstatement of the Sanatan Hindu and establishment of monarchial democracy in the country.
Thapa said that his party was making vigorous preparations for the upcoming CA election on a war footing, claiming that his party would become victorious in one-third seats in the election .
