KATHMANDU, AUGUST 20 – The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has detained 10 incumbent and former high ranking officials of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) including its present Director General Rameshwor Yadav over transformer procurement scam.
Other officials arrested by the anti graft body include former Director General Dr Jivendra Jha, Former Managing Director Chiranjivi Sharma and Former Deputy Executive Director Tikaram B.C.
Likewise incumbent deputy director Krishna Bahadur KC, Manager Krishna Bahadur Thapa then project coordinator Mahesh Acharya, action project chief Pramod Rijal, Account Chief Sushil Khanal and project coordinator Dev Sharma paudel have also come under CIAA net.
Similarly, 5 person including Director of the Department of Foreign Employment Ramesh Mainali have also been detained for charges of committing irregularities while giving final approval to foreign bound nationals.
Other employees of the department detained by CIAA include section officer Dipak Khatiwada, non gazetted officer Chandra Hari Luitel, computer operators Ram Prasad Pokhrel and Pappukumar Shah and translator Baidulla Mahasud.
All of them have been accused of irregularities while giving go ahead to 77 foreign employment aspirants.
Likewsie, section officer duo at the immigration department, Devarshi Sapkota and Suryaprasad Dahal, non gazetted officer duo Pradip Lamichhane and Bishworaj Kharel and peon Narayan Napit have also been arrested over passport scam.
