Sexual minorities stage rally in Capital to demand rights

KATHMANDU: About 1,000 gays, lesbians, transgender people and their supporters, many dressed in colourful clothes and holding banners, marched through Kathmandu today to celebrate and demand rights for their community, in what has become an annual festival.
It was the fourth year the rally was held, with organisers saying the march through the streets of Katmandu was an opportunity for sexual minorities to come out in the open and educate the public.
