Student unions demonstrate against fuel price hike

KATHMANDU, SEP 25 – Various student unions staged demonstration s at government colleges across the country on Wednesday as well demanding to withdraw the hike in the price of petroleum products.

The Nepal Students Union (NSU), All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), the All Nepal Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), the CPN-Maoist aligned student union, among others, held demonstration s and blocked the roads in front of the RR College, Tri-Chandra College and the College of International Languages in the capital from 8am to 9 this morning.

UP Lamichhane of the NSU said that they would hold more stringent protests if the price hike was not taken back.

The government-owned Nepal Oil Corporation had recently raised the price of petroleum products citing price hike in the international market. EKANTIPUR
