The construction of Sangkosh Tipling Road Section in the district has been halted due to disputes among the consumers.
Although it has been many years since the construction of road began, it is still incomplete. The roadway is one of the biggest roadways in the district. Negligence on the part of government and interests of consumers are blamed for the low-progress in roadway construction.
The 41-kilometer portion of roadway (from Darkha of Dhadingbesi to Ghayangsang) has already been completed and construction of three kilometers from Ghayangsang to Dundure has been halted due to protests by Dharna folks who want the roadway constructed via their locality, Manga Bahadur Tamang of Jharlang said.
The construction works have been blocked due to protest of Dharna people for around two years. The distance of roadway will be longer and construction works will be difficult due to big rocks and mound of earth if it is constructed via Dharna, Tamang said.
The Dhading District Development Committee allocated Rs. 3.2 million for the roadway construction in the past two years, but the budget went back to the DDC as the construction works could not be resumed, consumer’s committee chairman Kibri Bahadur Tamang said and complained of lack of support and cooperation from the district administration and the DDC to create an atmosphere to resume the roadway construction.
