SAARC general secretary, usaid administrator call on pm koirala

General Secretary of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Ahmed Saleem paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the latter’s office today.
During the meeting, matters relating to activities of the SAARC and the upcoming SAARC Summit to be held in Nepal were discussed, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Koirala described the term of General Secretary Saleem as successful and that the Government of Nepal makes a high assessment of his contribution during the period.
General Secretary Ahmed on the occasion wished for success of Prime Minister Koirala’s term of office and expressed the confidence that the upcoming SAARC Summit in Kathmandu would be successful.
 
Also today, USAID administrator Rajiv Shah paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Koirala.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Koirala lauded US assistance to Nepal’s development endeavours and said the government was looking forward to working with its long-time development partner.
Administrator Shah expressed confidence that democracy would institutionalize and stable peace maintained in Nepal, and expressed the commitment to continue US cooperation to Nepal in the days to come.
During the meeting, US Ambassador to Nepal Peter W Bodde was also present, according to spokesperson of the Office of the Council of Ministers Mahendra Kumar Thapa. RSS
