Upper Myagdi gets license for power production

The government, on Monday, provided the power production license to the Hydro Empire Private Limited in the Upper Myagdi Hydro-power Project.
According to Gokarnaraj Pantha, Information Officer of the Hydropower Development Department, the government has directed the company to arrange financial management and sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) within a year for the construction of the 20 MW project to be concluded within the next three years.
  The project is estimated to cost Rs. 2.71 billion and the company has already prepared the preliminary environment study report and would soon prepare the final report, it is learnt.
 The power generated from the project will be linked to the Dana based sub-station through a 43-kilometer-long transmission line.
 With this, the Department has issue power generation license to as many as 87 hydro-power projects. RSS
