The Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexuals and Inters Sex (LGBTIs) here have demanded their representation in the Constituent Assembly (CA).
At a news conference organised by the Blue Diamond Society, Janakpur, here today, they demanded that out of 26 CA members to be nominated by the government, three members should be from the LGBTI community.
On the occasion, training officer of the society Sushila Lama expressed the belief that it would be easy for them to get different services and facilities including citizenship and reservation quotas as per their identity if they got someone from the LGBTI community as CA member.
Project officer Santosh Thakur said around 5,000 LGBTIs are in contact of the society.
Likewise, field supervisor Pradeep Yadav said that the society and the state should not neglect the LGBTIs as they also have reputation and prestige. RSS
