The Nepal Bar Association Central Working Committee has decided to make a creative contribution to the ongoing constitution making process.
The central committee meeting of the Association concluded here today with a decision to hold a three-day special conference on constitution in Kathmandu from coming May 29 to collect feedback from legal practitioners on the contents of the constitution. The recommendations of the conference shall be presented to the Constituent Assembly and to the political parties.
The Bar has also appealed to all the political parties to ensure that the constitution is promulgated as promised within a year of the first sitting of the CA.
The meeting chaired by Bar President Hari Krishna Karki also decided to initiate a special campaign to bring structural and policy-level reforms in the judicial system and thereby increasing judicial good governance.
The Bar has also appealed to the authorities concerned to begin the procession of appointment of permanent judges including the Chief Justice immediately, end the trend of keeping justices on deputation and initiate the process of appointing district judges from among the legal practitioners. RSS
