Nepali child Teriya wins DID Little Masters title

Teriya Magar from Butwal, Nepal has won India’s Zee TV’s reality show DID Little Masters-3 title.
She left behind three other finalists to win the title in the grand finale held on Saturday night. Eight years old Anuska Chhetri of Kolkata, India won the second title. The third and the fourth place went to ten years old Sadbin Shetty from Bangalore and twelve years old Hardik Ruparel from Mumbai respectively.      
Eleven years old Teriya had been showing exceptional performance since the audition round. She won the title after securing the maximum number of votes from the audience after winning over 40 thousand participants up to 14 years of age in different stages.
She won the title after passing through 3 auditions held in Mumbai and getting selected among 102 participants in television audition held in New Delhi, 36 participants in choreography round, 16 participants in mega round and among the top 10 finalists.
She is the first Nepali to reach DID Masters’ final and the youngest participant. She has also received 50 lakhs Indian rupees and a car along with the award.
Teriya, who has been learning dance in Bageswori Music School in Butwal since the last five years, is a class 5 student of Peace Land Ex-Army School in Rudrapur, Butwal. Her mother runs a canteen in the same school; her father is in Dubai for employment.     
Even though many Nepali speakers have succeeded in various competitions in India, Teriya is the first to have been born in Nepal and succeeded in DID Little Masters.  
Prashant Tamanga, who succeeded in becoming the second Indian Idol in 2007, also won with maximum votes from the Nepalese. SETOPATI
