Former ambassador Surya Kiran Gurung has been recommend to head the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
The committee formed to nominate the members of the TRC and Disapperance Commission nominated Gurung as the chairman of TRC on Monday. Likewise, the committee recommended Lila Udashi, Krishna Subedi from Pyuthan,
Madhavi Bhatta from Kathmandu and Manchala Jha from Mahottari as members of the TRC.
The committee on Monday submitted the nominations for the transitional justice mechanisms to the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, the committee recommended Lokendra Malliak as the chairman of Disappearance Commission.
The committee also recommended Bijul Biswakarma, Prof. Dr. Bishnu Pathak, Narkumari Gurung and Ayebahadur Gurung as members of the Commission.
The transitional justice bodies were envisioned in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed 10 years ago.SETOPATI
