“The Peace Spoken of in Each Religious Scripture”: the First Meeting at the HWPL World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office in Nepal

– A meeting of religious leaders is held in Nepal, a country with diverse religious cultures
– Nepal, with the spirit of the Himalayas, yearns for peace under the protection of God
On April 11, 2015 Kathmandu –  The first meeting for world peace at the HWPL World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office-hosted by Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL)-was successfully held at the trade center located in Kathmandu of Nepal and has been receiving much public attention. With the topic “The Peace Spoken of in Each Religious Scripture,” religious leaders from Hinduism, Islam, Baha’ i, Protestantism, Catholicism, Buddhism, and many others discussed and shared their opinions. Nepal is one of the main Asian countries with much emphasis on religion, a country of various religions and cultures coexisting in the lives of the people. The fact that leaders from various religions gathered in one place for the purpose of peace in such a country indicates the height of their mindset in regards to peace.
Mr. Man Hee Lee, the Chairman of HWPL who hosted the World Alliance of Religions” Peace Summit (WARP Summit) last September, has been traveling across many parts of the world to bring cessation of war and to establish harmony between religions for this very purpose. Through these trips, Mr. Lee has been urging former and current heads of state from various countries around the world, as well as leaders of youth and woman organizations, to take part in this peace movement. Those who saw and heard Mr. Lee’s efforts to achieve peace expressed support in his method and determination to establish peace on earth. The HWPL World Alliance of Religions” Peace Offices (HWPL WARP Offices) are actively operating as centers for religious leaders who desire to participate. Thirty-five offices are currently located in nineteen countries around the world, such as the United States (New York City), Germany, Australia, Philippines, Mexico, El Salvador, and Kyrgyzstan.
Chintamani Yogi, the founding principal and the coordinator of the Hindu Vidya Peeth School in Nepal, who also is the founding chairperson of the Shanti Sewa Ashram – Peace Cervie Centre, took part in Nepals” World Alliance of religions” Peace Office along with many other influential leaders including Dharma Raj Pathak, FAYA Youth Organization leader, who had attended the WARP Summit hosted by HWPL last year. Their attendance received great interest not only in Nepal but also from the religious community in South Asia. Through their in-depth discussions with topics such as, “Peace according to each religious scripture,” “Why can’t the hearts of the people of faith become united, and why do conflicts continue to arise,” and, “Is there content of achieving peace within each religious scripture, and what is the method to actualize peace,” the attendees shared that they were able to understand once again the role and the duty of the religious leaders in order to make peace a reality.
In this meeting, Chintamani Yogi said, “Although the teaching from each religion may differ from another, every person of religion carries a responsibility to seek for peace and to actualize it.”  He also warned the current global situation by saying, “Conflicts and distress arise from the religious leaders who are selfish and materialistic, resulting in separation between peace and religion.  To pass down a world of such conflicts is very embarrassing and heartbreaking.” He continued by saying that he was able to taste the hope of meeting a true generation of peace by seeing HWPL’s peace movement and its suggesting method of resolution, as he did not forget to mention his pledge for the continued support for Nepal’s HWPL WARP Office in the future.
The leader of JCYCN (Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal), Tilottam Paudel, who gave a presentation on his attendance in the WARP Summit, emphasized various roles of youth for peace by saying, “In order to actualize true peace on earth, a country should first protect its youth, and second, the youth who are an important force in the country must be active in reflecting the mindset of peace in all fields including religion, politics, and culture.”
Another notable highlight from the event was the active support for peace from Nepal’s journalists. From their appointment as HWPL’s Publicity Ambassadors, from the appointment ceremony that took place on the same day, Nepal’s journalists are expected to play an important and outstanding role in publicizing the correct mindset regarding peace with fairness required as the media.
The HWPL WARP Office of Nepal is praised as the first step in Nepal’s becoming the leading country of peace in the world.  As the attendees pledged to participate in continual meetings from here on for active communication in future HWPL WARP Office meetings, future religious meetings that will take place in Nepal are also expected to play an important role in this world peace movement.
