World’s top internet search engine Google has dedicated its Google Doodle to Nepal on the occasion of the Nepal’s 8th Republic Day.
“Today we honor the strength and resilience of the people of Nepal. On May 28th, 2008, [Jestha 15, 2065] after decades of revolution and protests, Nepal became the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. Seven years later, this country is an international symbol of splendor, peace, and tenacity,” says Google.
Google further says that it hopes today’s Google Doodle will remind Nepalis that “they are an inspiration to the entire world, and that their burning perseverance lights the way for all of us.”
It says the three candles in the Google Doodle means “three things for Nepal: celebration of this National Day, prayers to Buddha, and a guiding light on the way home.”
In the end, Google Doodle writes that it is committed to supporting Nepal’s rebuilding efforts and assisting its road to recovery. It adds the Google Crisis Response Map will help see the damages to the areas affected by the earthquake and Person Finder will continue to help find friends and loved ones.
