Prohibitory zones declared in Siraha

The District Security Committee, Siraha today declared various parts of the district as prohibitory zones effective from 12 noon for the indefinite period. 
Areas stretching from Balan in the eastern part of the district to Kamala River in the west and areas leading to Indian border Lachak towards the south were declared prohibitory zones. 
The Committee issued a notice stating that the decision was taken to maintain peace and ensure smooth vehicular operation in the district after the protests of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) took a violent turn.
The Committee has also appealed to everyone not to disrupt the vehicular operation in the areas declared as prohibitory zones. 
Some eight agitators were injured when police fired shots during clash with agitators on Wednesday evening in the district.
Tension ran high in the district today morning when group of agitators vandalized the rented building of the District Traffic Police Office at Lahan Municipality-1 in the district. The traffic police personnel had shifted to the Area Police Office since Wednesday evening due to security concerns. RSS
