Parliament holds discussions on principle and priority of appropriation bill

The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today has held discussions on the principle and priority of the appropriation bill in a bid to make preparations for upcoming budget. 
Speaking in the meeting, Nepali Congress lawmaker Jeevan Pariyar commented the principle and priority as the ambitious adding that the economic constitution of the state was weaker to support policies. 
He blamed the government saying that it was only raising the issue of rigid nationalism rather expediting the reconstruction projects and forwarding the economic reforms agendas. 
Similarly, CPN (UML) lawmaker Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the government was adopting the principle of prosperous economy adding that the policy and priority were positive. 
Leader Nepal stressed the need for prioritising road, electricity and communications, managing the system of providing award and punishment for proper implementation of budget, adopting one window system for hydropower development, speeding up big projects, taking agriculture as a foundation of the country’s economy and monitoring and evaluating set projects among others. 
He also pointed out the need for establishing good governance, reforming famous religious sites of Nepal, the management of employment identity cards and management of employment information centre, apart from the concentration of the government to build a building for the parliament and holding local body elections in time. 
Likewise, lawmaker Dor Prasad Upadhyay said that the bill does not define participatory and equitable economic system clearly despite incorporating some strong and positive aspects based on its principle and priority. 
He also stressed on focusing on industrial development, defining a base for sustainable economic growth rate, making a concrete proposal for the development of agriculture and tourism, reforming theoretical aspect of social justice and distribution system and resolving unemployment problem and reducing trade deficiency. 
Lawmaker Sushil Kumar Shrestha said that the policy and priority were not new as it was alike previous one.
The long last economic goal to reach the category of the developed countries by 2022 was humorous as it did not have real ground. RSS
