The floods have caused the loss of millions in agriculture sector in different parts of Rupandehi district. The floods have affected ostrich farm causing the loss of over 80 ostriches and has eroded the land plot as well, said CP Sharma, operator of the Ostrich Nepal Private Limited.
Similarly, the flood inundated over 12,000 hectares of cultivated land in the district.
The district Agriculture Development Office officiating chief Ashwini Sharma informed that the paddy planted on thousands of hectares of land were inundated and damaged by the floods.
Similarly, the District Livestock Office has shared that the floods have caused a huge loss in the district in the agro sectors including the damage to the paddy crop, vegetables, bananas, peanuts, cash crops and fisheries, among others.
The Tinahu, Danav and Rohini rivers were swollen and inundated the several places in the district, it is learnt. RSS
