Saptari, July 14 : As always, Tilathi village of Saptari district in the southern border has been inundated again after the flooded Khando stream entered the settlements. More than 50 houses from Belhi village of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-1 were waterlogged on Monday.
A local Upendra Yadav informed that the incessant rainfall occurred for some days inundated the Belhi village including Belhi customs, market places and offices of Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force. The Rajbiraj-Tilathi road has been damaged in two places.
The traders incurred huge loss after the shops and stalls were waterlogged with inundation. Some 10 dead bodies were also seen on the bank of the flooded Khando stream, said a local from Launiya, Rajendra Mandal. It is too stinky when the dead bodies are taken near settlement by the flooded stream.
The floods also damaged the paddy plantation in hundred bighas of land.
The Tilathi people are suffering worst in the disaster. Along with Tilathi, neighbouring villages Launiya, Sakarpura, Rampura Malhaniya are exposed to high risk.
Despite expense of million rupees to control inundation every year, the internal dispute in Tilathi and Belhi and the Indian obstruction have left this area in the recurring inundation. RSS
