Kathmandu- The Government of Nepal (GoN) in the first phase is preparing to manage the coronavirus vaccine sufficient for 20 per cent of the country’s population.
The Ministry of Health and Population has formed different eight sub-committees to handle the procedures relating to the purchase of the vaccine and its administration.
Chief of Child and Immunization Section, Dr Jhalak Sharma Gautam, said preparations were ongoing to achieve vaccine sufficient for 20 per cent population under the ‘COVAX Facility’, which is the joint mechanism of Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The Ministry said the vaccine would be brought on subsidy. RSS
