Kathmandu, Nov. 13: One has to take a flight from Kathmandu and then go on foot to reach base camp of world known mountains such as Mt. Everest, Annapurna or Manaslu. But, to land at the base camp of Jugal mountain, one needs only a few hours bus ride and only two-day trekking!
Jugal Mountain is so near from Kathmandu that one can make a trip to its base camp and arrive in Kathmandu within five days.
Maya Gurung has climbed all the highest mountains of all the seven continents on earth and she says that base camp of Jugal Mountain is far different from base camps of the other mountains.
One can also see Jugal Mountain from Kathmandu very easily. Unlike in the base camps of other mountains, green trees and rivers wtih crystal clear water decorate the base camp of Jugal Mountain. One has to cross the area with green vegetation and walk for two or three days to reach base camps of other mountains in Nepal, according to mountaineer Maya Gurung.
To reach Jugal Mountain base camp, one can ride a bus from Kathmandu to Tembathan of Sindhupalchowk district and then go to Chhetang or Tipu on foot the next day and on the third day, one can reach base camp from Chhetan or Tipu, all on foot.
Although the base camp is near from Kathmandu, much of physical infrastructure are yet to be developed there. But, there are hotels for the tourists to stay. Rising Nepal
