258 Gamblers Nabbed During 5 Days Of Tihar

 Nov. 9: The police arrested 258 people who were found gambling during the Tihar festival.
The Nepal Police has informed that total of 258 gamblers were arrested during the five days of the festival from November 2 to November 6. Similarly, Rs. 3,995,820 was confiscated from the arrestees.
On November 2, the police arrested six people with two books of cards and Rs. 133,800 from Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-7, seven people with four books of cards and Rs. 48,340 from Baraha Kshetra of Sunsari and three people with Rs. 24,000 and 16 pieces of Kauda from Baraha Kshetra-2, Debi Sthan.
Similarly, 29 people were nabbed with Rs. 911,405 in Tahahun and 11 people were arrested from Tatopani Hotel in Machhapuchre Rural Municipality-2, Kaski on November 3.
Moreover, on November 4, a total of four gamblers were arrested from Biratnagar, nine from Gorkha, 12 from Kapilvastu, five from Rukum (West), and 18 from Kathmandu.
The police arrested six people from Surkhet, 15 from Bhaktapur, 18 from Kapilvastu, 17 from Lamjung, five from Kathmandu, and 10 from Kanchanpur who were caught gambling.
On November 20, 52 people from Nepalgunj, 16 from Kathmandu, 15 from Bhaktapur were detained for gambling, informed the Police Headquarters.
