Beni, Jan. 30: Three youths in Beni Municipality-4, Singa invested Rs. 18 million for a collective goat farming after they returned from foreign employment. Ana Bahadur Khadka (Bhagawan), Prem Khadka and Bhesh Bahadur Thapa have invested for the business jointly. They are raising Boer goats for last two years for their livestock farm.
Youth entrepreneur Ana Bahadur said that they aim of produce livestock from local Jamunapari and Kharijat goats by cross-breeding. He said they have 96 goats including mother goats and kids in their firm now. Another partner of the firm Bhagawan Khadka served in Indian Army for several years and Prem Thapa returned from Europe after he spent nine years in international labour market.
Thapa said he was happy over the business he started in his own country. “We are enjoying agriculture business after retirement as we can see brighter future of this profession,” he added.
The third partner Khadka also had similar experience of business firm. He said that they spent Rs. 8.5 million for infrastructure construction. “We purchased about 15 ropanis of land to establish goat rearing business and invested more than Rs. 4.5 million initially,” he added. According to him the business firm is spread in four ropanis of land.
“We invested Rs. 18 million in land, goats, pen and other structures,” he said, adding that they cultivated five ropanis of land for grass which has been maximised by renting 55 ropanis of land now.
There are 96 goats in the firm now though the firm can keep and raise 200 goats at a time. “We are planning to expand our business because we are unable to meet the growing demand,” he added. Locals are excited with the business youths have been running there. The Rising Nepal
