Kathmandu, 2081 Kartik 8 – A Women’s Rights Activists delegation will visit Greece to share their experiences and to get new insights against Domestic Violence in Nepal.
According to the source, six Women’s Rights Activists including Sarita Bhusal Member of the House of Representatives will visit Greece from 05 – 08 Mangsir (AD: 18 November – 23 November 2024) and meet representatives from different Ministries and public bodies, including the members of the Hellenic Parliament, officials of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity, National Commission for Human Rights, Chamber of Commerce, representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil society working in the area of violence against women, among others.
Bhusal’s office said on Wednesday that it will be a valuable opportunity to meet with Greek officials to discuss and share issues on the children and women of Nepal. It says during the meeting it will highlight the pertaining issue on domestic violence, Dowry custom, Chhaupadi, education, health, Civil and political rights, etc.
Women’s Rights Activists who represent and work for different organizations, will return to Nepal on 8 Mangsir “23 November” on completion of the visit.
Nepal and Greece established diplomatic relations on 2 February 1960. Ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Nepal and Greece have been enjoying good, friendly and cordial relations. significant number of tourists arrive in Nepal from Greece each year. They are interested in trekking, mountaineering, cultural heritages and other leisurely activities.
