Kathmandu, Nepal – The central committee meeting of Nepali Congress |(NC)-aligned Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) kicked off Monday amid controversy.
However, the central members close to NC senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba faction were not appeared in the meeting, NSU central member UP Lamichhane said.
‘All the members were informed about the meeting, but some of them are not present’, he added.
The meeting was to discuss the election to free students’ union, NSU’s general convention, internal rift, among others, Lamichhane informed.
Rishikesh Shah, student leader close to Deuba camp, said that they have deliberately boycotted the central committee meeting and would not attend any formal programmes till an end to dispute.
It is noted that Deuba group has held internal discussion after knowing about the holding of central committee meeting of NSU establishment side.
The establishment side accused the Deuba group of creating dispute in the party taking up the issue of formation of NSU central committee.
