Kathmandu – The government has announced relief for the victims of the flash flood occurred after bursting of the Seti River in Kaski district on Saturday.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, while inspecting the flood-hit areas in the district on Sunday, announced to provide Rs 25, 000 immediately and Rs 1,00,000, later on, to the bereaved families each.
On the occasion, PM Bhattarai also instructed the local administration to carry out search and rescue works without any delay and ensure that rescue operation does not get affected due to lack of any kind of resources.
UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar and Chief Secretary Madhav Prasad Ghimire were also in the inspection team.
As many as 13 persons were killed and more than three dozen others went missing in the flood triggered by bursting of the river due to passage blockage in the Mt Annapurna region. RSS
