PARSA – Normal life in and around Birgunj has been adversely affected since this morning due to shutdown enforced by Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum Nepal (MJF-N) demanding one Madhes pradhes.
Activists of MJF-N have descended to streets in different parts of Birgunj including Power House Chowk, Maisthan, Murli, Ghantaghar since early this morning.
Long and short route vehicles from and to Birgunj have been completely halted. Educational institutions have been shut down for the past one week.
The Madhes shutdown has been enforced today so as to pile pressure for one Madhes prades in the new constitution, said MJF-N Parsa Chairperson Pradeep Yadav.
Meanwhile, the shutdown enforced by United Democratic National Party in eastern region demanding the establishment of ethnic-identity based federal states has thrown the normal life out of gear. RSS
