Half dozen secretaries to resign against Chief Secretary appointment

KATHMANDU – Irked by the Bhattarai government’s decision to appointment Lilamani Paudel as the Chief Secretary, some dissatisfied secretaries are mulling to resign enmasse from the services.


Around half a dozen of secretaries are planning to resign claiming that the Paudel was promoted to the post by trampling the bureaucratic seniority order.

Home Secretary Sushi Jung Bahadur Rana said that he will be resigning today to reportersnepal.com. He accused the government of infiltrating the bureaucracy with politics in promoting Paudel to the top bureaucratic post.


Along with Rana, Shankar Koirala, Baman Prasad Neupane, Shyam Prasad Mainali, Bhagwati Prasad Kafle, Tana Gautam, Gyan Chandra Acharya and Trilochan Upreti are also planning to resigning to protest Paudel’s appointment.
