KATHMANDU – UCPN Maoist chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal has said that Nepali Congress could lead the national consensus government if parties agreed on identity based ethnic federalism.
Speaking at the round table conference of the CPN Maoist organised in Lalitpur today, Dahal said that his party will agree any party’s leadership of the consensus government if parties resolve all outstanding issues of the new constitution.
“We won’t accept the leadership of congress or other party for the consensus government if agreement on disputed issues of the new constitution is not reached,” Prachanda said.
Stating that all political parties have agreed to go for fresh elections, Dahal said that the five point agreement has lost its relevance.
In a different note, he claimed that the newly formed federalist alliance will be imperative in drafting a federalist constitution and challenged UML and Congress to form separate alliance like theirs.
